Marketing Myth Busting
Debunking all the marketing myths that you may or may not believe.
I hear these marketing myths waaaay too often. So I thought, what better time than now to set the record straight. Let’s get into it.
Myth: I need to post every day or my fans will forget I exist.
Truth: You need to post as often as is sustainable for you. If you post every day for a month then just stop, that’s worse than posting 3 times per week for a year. Consistency is key.
Myth: We should always be looking at other artist’s content for inspo.
Truth: You should have 3-5 rotating content pillars that reflect YOUR brand and goals.
Myth: I want press but it’s not effective for artists in 2026 and the digital age.
Truth: Press is a long game, but the payoff is there. Press brings notoriety, SEO, industry relationships, and more. It can also be used for viral content if you have the right press team helping maximize those moments (like Amethyst Collab).
Myth: My fan base is too small to use a burner account strategy.
Truth: This works especially well for small artists, especially when you use cultural marketing analysis and audience overlap research to create the right type of burner pages. Email Amethyst Collab. We’ll set it up for ya.
