Rollout Roundup: Breaking Down This Week’s Best Rollouts 11.7.25
This week I’m analyzing the campaigns of Rosalía, Young Miko, and JT.
Hi! If you’re new here, thanks for reading! My name is Olivia, and I own entertainment marketing company Amethyst Collab, where I work with artists and entertainers on creative rollout strategies with a focus on social media and digital marketing. Now let’s get into it!
Rosalía - Lux (Album)
What I Love: Rosalía treating an album rollout like performance art continues to set the standard for how global superstars should move. She is ever-evolving as an artist, and the rollout certainly matches. She’s been doing video-centered press and even hosting a press conference in Mexico. She isn’t holding back from talking about the album before release, which makes us excited to hear how the themes she discuss come to life on each song. Her use of socials is careful and curated, with her Instagram grid transformation into a curated art installation makes every post feel intentional. The way she’s been seeding lyrics in her stories and the album title on her Twitter months before announcement was a great use of easter eggs. This album shows Rosalía going back to her Spanish and European roots, and she’s leaned into telling us all about the languages she learned and the saints she was inspired by when creating the songs, which showcases the depth of this project for her.
What I’d Add: Rosalía’s power is in how she commands a stage, but we’re getting everything through screens. I’m looking forward to how she’s able to bring her performances to fans once the music is out. A live performance show that lives on digitally after, like Ariana Grande’s positions live from Vevo, and even possibly goes to streaming much later on, could be a great way to archive her performance of this album that clearly has a lot of music depth. Additionally, I’d love for her to lean into TikTok and show us some of her musical process. She drops a lot of lore in press, but doing some direct-to-fan BTS and breakdowns could be an additional more personality-driven and less polished way to promote the album.
Young Miko - Do Not Disturb (Album)
What I Love: Young Miko’s new era is wildly exciting. Fresh off a tour with Billie Eilish, she’s set to headline a sold out performance of Puerto Rico’s “el Choli”, or the massive stadium in San Juan that Bad Bunny just had his historic residency at. She’s phenomenal at collaborations, which have no doubt from her in front of fans like those of Katseye, Feid, and more. Her social content has been fun yet promotional when necessary, with Young Miko not shying away at all from promoting her song “Likey Likey” that served as the focus single from the album. She does a great job at creating trends on TikTok by modeling the content herself, and posting repeatedly, which drives her fans to do the same.
What I’d Add: I’d love to see some more fun/personality content from Young Miko. What was it like to tour with an artist like Billie Eilish? What was it like collabing with Katseye and performing with Bad Bunny at his residency? Give us the tea!!
JT - “Girls Gone Wild” (Single)
What I Love: JT has been fusing fashion with music for a while now, and she isn’t taking her foot off the gas, which I can appreciate. Her willingness to go live at 2 AM and address everything from industry politics to personal drama creates this reality TV energy that keeps people locked in. The single artwork captures that high low mix she’s mastered. The “City Cinderella” era was really exciting and I’m on the lookout for where she goes in this new era.
What I’d Add: The one-sided beef with Cardi B really turned me off. JT continuing to insert herself into vengeful drama online was not a good look. I would also love to see more world-building in the visual content for this single, and have JT go beyond just serving looks. If JT put the energy she puts into Twitter on more musically impactful platforms like TikTok and Reels, the music would be going really far. She’s had a ton of success with viral sounds on TikTok so I’d like to see her really making that her home platform.
