Rollout Roundup: Breaking Down This Week's Best Rollouts 3.7
This week I’m reviewing the rollouts of Lady Gaga, Gelo, and Doechii.
Hi! If you’re new here, thanks for reading! My name is Olivia, and I own entertainment marketing company Amethyst Collab, where I work with artists and entertainers on creative rollout strategies with a focus on social media and digital marketing. Now let’s get into it!
Gelo - Can You Please ft. GloRilla (Single)
What I Love: The teasing of this snippet was glorious. From adding the first “Can You Please” snippet to the end of his hit record “Tweaker”’s music video to teasing the new music on Plaqueboymax’s stream, Gelo has kept fans in the loop during this rollout. Gelo and Glo also teased a photo together at midnight, showing that a visual might be on the way.
What I’d Add: Would love to see Gelo and Glo get on a stream together or do a joint live. To see how they interact would be fun. Additionally, releasing the BTS of them in the studio or even a screenshot of texts if it was done virtually, it will help us get invested in the remix to see how it came together.
Lady Gaga - Mayhem (Album)
What I Love: A press run for the ages. Lady Gaga has been her most triumphant and her most personal on the Mayhem press tour. Debuting “Abracadabra” with a MasterCard commercial could have easily come off stale - but it was fun and electric. Lady Gaga is set to do double duty on SNL this Saturday - and the promo is already shaping up for a great show. From teasing a potential Beyoncé collab on a lie detector test interview to continuing to put out some of the most engaging and visually-cohesive performances of the millennium, Lady Gaga is at the top of the pop game for a reason.
What I’d Add: Telephone Part 2. Need it, now!
Doechii - Anxiety (Single/Re-release)
What I Love: It’s hard not to be impressed with Doechii’s drive right now. She has been the standout at Paris Fashion Week all week - with her looks being both elevated and true to her style. Somehow she still found time to record and release this long-hidden record - which started as a Sleepy Hallow sample of Doechii’s freestyle or cover of the alt hit “Somebody That I Used To Know”. Her quick release of the solo version and engagement on TikTok shows that she still has her ear to the streets and is ready to feed her rapidly growing fanbase.
What I’d Add: I’m keeping in mind this was not an official single release, so it makes sense there wouldn’t be a press shoot or visual. But I’d love to see Doechii collab with some of the creators that made this sound trend on TikTok for the official visual, if one is in the works.
