Rollout Roundup 9: The Best Marketing Rollouts of the Week
Featuring Lil Gotit, Ka$hdami, and Tierra Whack.
Lil Gotit - Top Chef Gotit (Album)
Executive Produced by Gunna, the album has probably already caught your eye on social media given its visually-pleasing cover and the Atlanta YSL crew’s support. However, Gotit has show he’s making a name for himself with the rise in creativity on this project:
Strengths: Art direction, social content, unique presentation of collaborators. Maximizing collaborations is something Gotit does best. He seems to find the perfect collaborators for his style, taking him out of his regular target audience but aligning with people who should be following him. He clearly has a strong team behind him checking alllllll the boxes. His actual chef kit was a really interesting twist too, I saw some Gotit olive oil floating around.
Weaknesses: I don’t have a ton to say here. A lot of former weaknesses have been addressed with this project, like the elevation in art direction. I would love to see Gotit get really active on twitter though, and not just around release time.
Ka$hdami - Epiphany (Mixtape)
Ka$hdami is one of the most exciting newcomers in the game right now. He’s extremely fast-rising, and has seemed to grow with his base.
Strengths: Similar strengths as him contemporaries, artist direction on point, social numbers climbing. His highly anticipated collaboration with Lil Tecca as a producer definitely caught some eyes. The drop of his clothing line, Ka$hways is what really interests me. We are in the era of rappers doing more than music and expanding their brands, and I love to see it.
Weaknesses: This was just a mixtape, so it’s hard to hold it to the same standards as full album releases. I would like to see some more press shoots where we can see Ka$hdami’s face, but maybe he’s playling mysterious?!
TierraWhack x Phila Unite - 76 (Single)
I’ve been really interested in brand partnerships with musicians lately, and this theme song collaboration was very interesting. Everything Tierra does is interesting in it’s own right, so I knew this drop wouldn’t disappoint.
Strengths: Interesting premise, funny visuals, made waves with the press.
Weaknesses: None to report here.
